This event is designed by IT professionals for IT Professionals and students.  Come to learn how you can get started building your very own development business on free tools and resources from Microsoft.  We will dive into how you (an IT Professional or Student) can get started in building your first Windows Store application. Speaker Bio


JoshuaJoshua Drew – Senior Technical Evangelist, Microsoft

Joshua Drew is a Senior Technical Evangelist for Microsoft where he is responsible for promoting the development across the Windows ecosystem all over New England. Joshua focuses on Windows 8 and Windows Phone application and gaming development using native languages, such as C# or hybrid development using HTML5/JavaScript. As an evangelist, Joshua works with professional developers and students at workshops and on-premise events to help develop apps and games along with providing guidance on user experience design, marketing and promotion.

Joshua has been working in the digital agency field for over 15 years. Whether he was managing a team of developers or architecting a client engagement, his client first attitude and willingness to teach provided success in his career. During this time he has helped clients such as Delta Air Lines, Kraft Foods, Lexus Automotive, Wells Fargo, Dunkin Donuts and more, launch digital products online. Projects include eCommerce sites for Nestle Waters and Readers Digest to Facebook apps for Unilever Brands and CVS Pharmacy. His technology skill set includes C#/.NET, Java, PHP and iOS development along with client facing technologies such as JavaScript and HTML5. When Joshua is not playing with technology gadgets or tinkering with code he is coaching his girls in Soccer and Lacrosse or watching his son play Football. He lives in Newtown Connecticut which provides excellent proximity to Vermont. This allows him to sneak up to the snowy mountains where you can find him on the black diamonds or partaking in apres after a long day.

Jesus Aguilar is a Technical Evangelist at Microsoft. He is focused on Windows Azure as well as Modern App development. Prior to his current role, he was a development consultant working with some of Microsoft’s largest enterprise customers on their mission critical applications. Throughout his career he has fulfilled various roles such as solution architect, technology advisor, team lead and software engineer, in companies of all sizes and types, from top fortune 500 companies to small start-ups. He is passionate about development technology and you will catch his attention by using terms such as “Scalability”, “Concurrency”, “Design Patterns”, “Minimum Viable Product” and “Time to Market”.
